Attendance and Punctuality
Attendance is a key factor if a pupil is to achieve good qualifications and have the chance to grow socially, emotionally and personally as an individual.
We ask parents/carers to phone the school if your child is going to be absent or late. If we have not heard from you by the time your child is due to start school, our admin team will make a courtesy call to the named contact. The office is open from 8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday and outside these hours, we have an answer machine in operation, so it is easy for you to notify us of a pupil's absence or delay. Please telephone 01707 830950 and leave your child’s name and information relating to the delay/absence.
We encourage pupils' medical appointments to be booked outside of school hours, when possible, to minimise disruption to their learning.
The school is unable to authorise absence for holidays, which is in line with the statutory guidance.
Part of our weekly awards celebrates pupils with excellent attendance.
The attendance policy provides more detail on the school’s approach.
