Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to our website. The James Marks Academy is a free school for pupils with an EHC plan. The majority of our cohort have Autism and complex mental health needs.

Our aim is to create an environment where each pupil can flourish. We work with a young person and their family to provide support to enable them to access their education and successfully achieve outcomes that provide them with opportunities to continue studying or move into training or employment.

Visitors to the school are immediately struck by the respectful, calm and considerate atmosphere around the site, which mirrors the respect and value our staff and pupils have for our community.

There is a wealth of information on the website that I hope will give you a real sense of the school of which we are all so proud.
